If you come at the right time of year, Ausable River - West Branch offers some glorious whitewater; the Phelps Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Pitchoff Mountain can be seen from Round Lake, and Mount Pisgah has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Adirondack       Mountains. You're in all probability addicted to lakes, Upper Cascade Lake is one of those nearby, and a golf course close by is Craig Wood Golf & Country Club. If you need a location to stay Courtyard Lake Placid is a splendid choice, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Ausable River - West Branch. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Round Lake. Through the summer months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Round Lake. During the dark                  hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Round Lake. Any time is a brilliant time at Round Lake if you fancy the outdoors. Round Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Adirondak Loj is a wonderful local campground, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Whiteface Mountain. Having a pleasant time in the Adirondack Mountains is painless. Round Lake is right by the Johns Brook Trail, and Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a great site to get some rest. Nearby lakes? Sure, Mud Pond is right next door to Round Lake, and if you fancy a little side journey, try Hi-Notch. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Round Lake; during August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful.
