There are other places here than Roosa Lake, for example Lyonsville Pond, and the Phoenicia Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. Roosa Lake really is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. Beaverdam Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth checking out, and Rondout Valley Camping Resort is a perfect local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Near Roosa Lake you                  stumble on a golf course called Stone Dock Golf Course; if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Vernooy Falls Trail. Roosa Lake generally gets much rain; through November this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Ashokan Reservoir is a delightful lake near Roosa Lake, and a good close by hotel is Sparrowhawk Affaires. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Rochester Creek is so much fun, and there are plenty of folks from Kingston here. For the duration of the days of summer here at Roosa Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's.
