On a perfect day at Rondout Reservoir you can take a hike along the Kanape Jeep Trail, and Lexington at Hudson Valley Resort is a great place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. The Seager West Branch Trail is a fine hiking trail close to Rondout Reservoir, and there's some flowing water                  nearby, Brandy Brook is a stream you can stop at during your stay. Stay the night at Sunshine Acres Camp & Conferen; in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Beer Kill River - West Branch. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Rondout Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Skyway Campgrounds is a tremendous location for that; Cedar Swamp is an attention-grabbing swamp near Rondout Reservoir. For you golfers we recommend nearby Shawangunk Country Club, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Vernooy Falls Trail. Rondout Reservoir is a wet spot that gets much precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest.
