Beaver Pond is a pleasant local campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Railroad Pond; Woodtown Trail is a brilliant local trail. Good hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Railroad Pond, you could also check out nearby Furnace Brook Lake, and get dripping       wet paddling on Popolopen Creek. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Moodna Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Camp Discovery is a pleasant place to camp. Sterling Forest has great slopes and a friendly staff, and there's magnificent hiking along the Stillwell Lake Trail. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Railroad Pond reach the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's while Railroad Pond overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's.
