A day on the slopes of Gore Mountain is just what you need; not far from Pug Hole you'll locate Black Mountain Ponds which is a stunning lake. Hiking along the Indian Pass Trail is wonderful fun; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by O K Slip Pond. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Going for a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail       will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and a good place to camp here at Pug Hole is Cedar Pond Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water nearby flows, like Bell Mountain Brook; if you come at the right time of year, Hudson River offers some wonderful whitewater. You get a great sight of Casey Mountain from Pug Hole, and why not camp at Smoke Rise Campsites if you're here at Pug Hole. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here                  in the Adirondack Mountains. Take a hike on the Oregon Trail, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Thirteenth Brook. This lake is so wonderful. A nice close by hotel is Courtyard Lake Placid. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Pug Hole gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. During the long summer days highs here at Pug Hole reach the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
