If you need a place to stay Super 8 Johnstown/Gloversville is a glorious choice, and going for a hike on the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Prairie Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Campsite is a great location to camp nearby; if you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piseco Outlet. moisture. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Prairie Lake, you could also visit beautiful Indian Lake.
This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. Now, you may feel that's plenty but there's even more
exciting stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Stay the night at Pine Lake Campground and RV Park, and there are plenty of folks from Gloversville here at Prairie Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Frie Flow flows through this
area, and Holmes Lake Outlet is a wonderful whitewater spot close by.
During the long summer days at Prairie Lake highs are frequently in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are frequently in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Prairie Lake.

Nine Corner Lake
 | Been there several times and it's an enjoyable, short and easy walk. Our last visit there was somewhat ruined by a group of youngsters who felt they needed to bring their boom box with them as they sat on the shore communing with nature. Other than that - nice jaunt....Never been there...going there soon though....l\Love it there, going today. :)...Great spot for swimming in the summer. Clear waters, with many rocks and small cliffs to jump off, along with a rope swing! Its a heavily used area, made apparent by the large amount of garbage left around during the busy months, but all in all a good lake and definatley worth the short hike.... |
