Moodna Creek has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by; you might also want to pay a visit to Brooks Hollow if you're here at Popolopen Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in close proximity to Popolopen Lake. Good hiking is available along       the Stillwell Lake Trail; if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Popolopen Creek. Central Valley Golf Club is a pleasant golf course close by, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites West Point-Ft Montgomery, Ny is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Popolopen Lake; Woodtown Trail is a wonderful local trail, and at Popolopen Lake you can                  spot Brooks Mountain. Popolopen Lake is not the only spot nearby, Sutherland Pond is a nearby lake, and there's splendid hiking along the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Mt. Peter and strap some skis to your feet. There's so much to do here at Popolopen Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sebago Cabins Harriman is a pleasant site for that. What a site this is for outdoors folks. A lake nearby is Lake Massawippa. Stay the night at Beaver Pond; a good nearby hotel is Econo Lodge West Point. High temperatures at Popolopen Lake during the summer are in the 70's while overnight lows are generally in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; nighttime lows at Popolopen Lake through the wintertime typically plunge into the 10's.
