Whitewater paddling is good on Moose River; you can go for a hike on the Forty Mountain Trail. Poplar Pond is not far at all from Utica-Rome; going for a hike on the Stone Dam Trail is always a great adventure. Any time is a delightful time at Poplar Pond if you adore the outdoors. A pretty lake like Barnes Lake near Poplar Pond is a glorious place to take a look at, and Snow Ridge       is a very popular ski area close by. High temperatures at Poplar Pond during the warm days of summer are in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Poplar Pond throughout the winter generally descend into the 0's. Black River has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by; a quick journey to Cropsey Creek is certainly a delightful idea.                  Stysh's Brown Barn Campgrounds is a great campground here, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Sunset Inn is a pleasant choice. Poplar Pond gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; through August this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Woodgate Pines Golf Club, and camping at Poplar Pond is nice fun, Moose River Camp Grounds is a nice local campground.
