Playland       Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. Spend the day on the beach at Oakland Beach while you're here at Playland Lake, and Playland Lake is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Soundview Sports is a splendid place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Mill Pond is right here at Playland Lake, and Playland Lake is not the only                  location nearby, Kirby Pond is a nearby lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Playland Lake has to offer, you can camp at Tyler Hill Camp, and this is a popular site for people from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown. One of the best things about Playland Lake is its proximity to Rye Beach; close by you hit upon perfect sites like Bluefish Shoal. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Norwalk River. Summertime highs at Playland Lake generally tend to be in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Playland Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
