What a nice lake Pikes Pond is. At Pikes Pond during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are typically in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Pikes Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from Hudson come to Pikes Pond, and a splendid place to camp here at Pikes Pond is Dingman's Campgrounds. If you need a place to stay Knights Inn Castleton

| | on Hudson/Schodack is a perfect choice, and you'll find a scenic lake called Rendert Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Poesten Kill River, and don't leave Pikes Pond without first going for a hike along the Southeast Hollow Trail. and some of the water nearby flows, like Alder Brook. The view of Bailey Mountain from Pikes Pond is pretty, and you can go for a hike on the Brickhouse Mountain Trail. A delightful lake like Crooked Lake in close proximity to
Pikes Pond is a fine place to have a look at, and the slopes of Bousquet are so inviting nobody can resist. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Pikes Pond. From a rain point of view Pikes Pond
is a reasonably normal place; June is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Be careful coming to Pikes Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites; there are delightful spots to discover along the Taconic Skyline Trail.

 | this is a gREAt campground for people with children. They make you feel great about camping. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. I would recomended this campground 110 percent!!!!...alps is the most awesome place to camp.they offer everything and anything there. we saw what they did at the 4th of july and the kids loved it. I advice any parents that have have kids to take them there........they WON'T be disapointed... |

Nassau, a nice boulder garden class II-III proceeds, with water attractions all the way to Valatie. Getting out at Valatie is difficult but necessary before the dam....There are two impassable waterfalls 60 plus feet high about two miles south of the Valatie water fall. There is no viable way around these falls without climbing down steep cliffs. We stopped about a half mile above the two stuyvesant falls. My understanding is there are old mill dams before you get to stockport. Somebody gave you really bad dangerous info.... |
