Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Mill Creek, and Brookwood RV Resorts is a good campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Ticonderoga Inn & Suites is a nice location to get some rest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Penfield Pond gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month       is February. That right there is plenty of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. Near Penfield Pond you come across a golf course called Ticonderoga Country Club, and if you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Putnam Creek. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Penfield Pond. Good hiking is available along the Lost Pond Trail; not far from Penfield                  Pond you'll come across Mud Pond which is a lovely lake. Be careful coming to the Adirondack Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. A splendid close by hotel is Ticonderoga - Super 8 Motel, and you can stay the night at Brookwood Park Campsite. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Bear Pond Trail, and Beech Hill is a peak you can catch a sight of from Penfield Pond. There's perfect hiking along the Clear Pond Trail. Lakes? Sure, Cedar Bridge Pond is nearby. Summertime at Penfield Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's.
