     Good hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and the view of delightful Cat Hill is good. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. The Woodtown Trail offers hiking at its best, and do have a look at Upper Cranberry Pond, it's a striking lake. If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Highland Falls is a great choice. Drift down the rapids of Moodna Creek in a kayak; hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake  
   Peekskill; Stillwell Lake Trail is a delightful local trail.
Lake Peekskill commonly gets a large amount of rainfall; during May this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Gregory Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to, and golf can be played at The Garrison Golf Club. The warmest time of the year at Lake Peekskill arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night
 
               sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Peekskill temperatures sink to the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. Really brilliant skiing awaits you at Thunder Ridge, and get drenched paddling on Popolopen Creek. Lake Peekskill is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Discovery is a delightful local campground, and Mohegan Outlet is in the vicinity of Lake Peekskill and is always a bliss to pop by. A good site to camp here at Lake Peekskill is Beaver Pond, and dry warm beds await you at The Thayer Hotel.
