    If you are in Rensselaer county it's always a good idea to stop by Peckham Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you fancy a little side journey, try Couch Hollow, and hiking along the Williams Trail is brilliant fun. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Peckham Pond. Broken Wheel Campground is a great campground nearby, and Peckham Pond is right by the Southeast Hollow Trail. Jericho Valley Inn is a perfect location to get some  
   rest, and if you come at the right time of year, Hoosic River offers some magnificent whitewater.
Peckham Pond is a good place of normal rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. The slopes of Jiminy Peak are so inviting noone can resist, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Taconic Crest Trail. At Peckham Pond through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Through the moonlight
 
               hours it's generally in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Peckham Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. Peckham Pond is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Aqua Vista Valley Campgrounds is a good spot to camp nearby, and a lake nearby is White Lily Pond. What would winter be without some skiing at Mount Greylock Ski Club. A brilliant sight of wonderful Dickinson Hill is available from Peckham Pond, and soar down the rapids of Green River in a kayak.
After a long day outdoors Jiminy Peak is a brilliant site to spend a night or two; Red Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by.

this is a gREAt campground for people with children. They make you feel great about camping. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. I would recomended this campground 110 percent!!!!...alps is the most awesome place to camp.they offer everything and anything there. we saw what they did at the 4th of july and the kids loved it. I advice any parents that have have kids to take them there........they WON'T be disapointed...
