Through the winter the highs are typically in the 20's while Peaked Hill Pond night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.

Oxshoe Pond
 | What a terrific place to spend the night or even a few days. I went there on my first hike ever, and I am going back this week. It is about a 3-4 hour hike into the trail, but man is it worth it. If you are lucky enough to be the only group there, you will find a lean-2 and fire pit all to yourself. Also, there is a very secluded pond(oxshoe pond) in the same valley, that is just spectacular. A row boat is on hand to use for free for anyone at the site. No cell service with Verizon there, but then again, who needs that? lol again though, an absolutely amazing place to spend a few nights.... |
