A splendid site to camp here at Payne Lake is Moose River Camp Grounds, and a charming lake like Cleveland Lake is a pleasant place to check out. All through the days of summer highs here at Payne Lake get into the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are frequently in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Payne Lake. Paddling on Independence River is so much fun; you'll locate a delightful lake called Hopsicker Pond. And if that's
not enough, there's heaps more to do near Payne Lake. Very wonderful scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Woods Valley.
Payne Lake gets a normal amount of rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is nice on Otter Creek, and why not camp at Happy Hollow Campground if you're here at Payne Lake. What would winter be without some skiing at Snow Ridge, and unsurprisingly Beaver Meadow Creek flows through this vicinity.
