     Partridge Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Partridge Pond is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Long Lake Camp is a wonderful place to camp nearby, and a beautiful lake like Lower Cat Pond is a splendid place to have a look at. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. On a gorgeous day you acquire a view of Buck Mountain from Partridge Pond.
This lake is so wonderful.
 
   Dry warm beds await you at Woodlake Inn, and some of the water nearby flows, like Bog Stream. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Partridge Pond. Stay the night at Whispering woods, and going for a hike on the Northville Lake Placid Trail is always a delightful adventure. You'll locate a scenic lake called Sand Pond near Partridge Pond; Bog River is a splendid whitewater spot close by.

               lots more amusing stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. There are delightful places to discover along the Ash Pond Trail, and you can run the rapids of Round Lake Outlet. All the water falling down from the sky makes Partridge Pond a wet place; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. At Partridge Pond during the long summer days highs are in the 70's; the nighttime is somewhat cooler of course, commonly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; overnight lows at Partridge Pond all through the winter ordinarily fall into the 0's.

Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-...

Terror Lake

...r lake. Shallow bays and a deep center between its two lobs. It is dead to fish. It was named in the early 19th century before stillwater. The Carthage road went up the Beaver river drainage. Two brothers got lost up in the ridges above Terror Lake. Almost died. They found the lake and named it after their nights of terror. Guys used to hunt there in the fly in days. The last last guy to go there was a drainage ditch runner. Calls himself PH. Take his advice. It's a long way in and you MUST know the woods and be a woodsman. There are plenty of blow downs to go through overland. The way to go is via the end of Twitchell Lk. The Sisters who own the old Teahouse at the end of Twitchell are nice old girls. I saved their nephew one cold November night. They bought me some good whiskey. Anyway that's the way to get into Terror Lk. Follow the old trail into the South Branch Beaver River drainage. Head northeast for a good mile and keep the high ground to your right shoulder. Keep walking about 4 miles and make sure the big ridge is over your right shoulder. You can't miss the lake.
