A delightful swamp close to Parmeter Pond is Pine Marsh, and whitewater paddling is good on Grass River - Middle Branch. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Parmeter Pond; Sixmile Creek Trail is a good local trail. There's so much to do here at Parmeter Pond that you need to camp here for       a while, Higley Flow State Park is a delightful spot for that, and the panorama of charming Gooseberry Mountain is glorious. During the summer months at Parmeter Pond highs are mostly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Parmeter Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western University Inn, and if you                  came to camp Robinson's Iga is a brilliant place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Suites Canton is a tremendous site to get some rest, and paddling on Grass River - Lower South Branch is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the The Loop; Parmeter Pond is not the only site nearby, Mile Pond is a nearby lake. So many enjoyable things to do at Parmeter Pond, so little time. A lake nearby is Allen Pond, and don't leave Parmeter Pond without first going for a hike along the Post Henderson Trail.
