The yearly rain here at Parmeter Pond is about average; during August this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Going for a hike on the Sixmile Creek Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and getting to Allen Pond Outlet from Parmeter Pond is easy. If you come at the right time of year, Grass River - Middle Branch offers some glorious whitewater, and       dry warm beds await you at Best Western University Inn. At Parmeter Pond you always meet someone from Ogdensburg-Massena; Parmeter Pond is a fine place to camp, Higley Flow State Park is a fine place. What a location this is for outdoors people. This is a magnificent region for folks who like lakes. Allen Pond is a lake in close proximity; after a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Canton is a splendid location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.                  Near Parmeter Pond you hit upon the The Loop which is a fine hiking trail; here at Parmeter Pond you can make out Gooseberry Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. There are swamps here too; Pine Marsh is in the neighborhood, and the Post Henderson Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by. Throughout the summer at Parmeter Pond highs are frequently in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Parmeter Pond dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights.
