85 years ago my mother who lived in Brooklyn spent her vacations at Lake Twitchell, she said once she went to the adirondacks she never went back to the catskills. I got up this morning and thought of her conversations about the lake and decided to look it up, I hope it's still as beautiful as she described it so many years ago,I still have her snap shots....

Terror Lake

Head northeast for a good mile and keep the high ground to your right shoulder. Keep walking about 4 miles and make sure the big ridge is over your right shoulder. You can't miss the lake. There is an old ghost trail marked with blue soap can lids at the base of the ridge. Probably grown in by now. Don't need trails anyway. Use your Map & Compass. Don't do this trip with the foliage on. Lots of thi...
