Going for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; a perfect close by hotel is Le Chambord. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Inn at Arbor Ridge and Cnf Ctr is a pleasant choice, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always       stop by nearby Barrett Pond. While you're here at Lake Ossi you can take a hike along the Stillwell Lake Trail; you can make out California Hill from Lake Ossi. Just can't get enough of Lake Ossi. Whitewater paddling is great on Popolopen Creek, and why not camp at Clarence Fahnestock State Park if you're here at Lake Ossi. If you came for an overnight stay Camp Kiwi is a splendid spot to camp. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Lake Ossi                  reach the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the winter highs are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Lake Ossi dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. A round of golf at nearby Country Club at Lake Mc Gregory is a wonderful way to kill some time; in the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wappinger Creek. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lake Ossi you will meet lots of people from nearby Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown. Lakes are nice; Lockwood Pond is a lake that's right next door to Lake Ossi.
