There are great spots to discover along the Woodtown Trail, and Camp Discovery is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. A perfect nearby hotel is Hilton Garden Inn Poughkeepsie/Fishkill, and naturally West Branch Canopus Creek is a gorgeous stream that is worth checking out. Really good skiing awaits you at Thunder Ridge,       and while you're here, you could also visit beautiful Mud Lake. Get soaked paddling on Popolopen Creek, and you'll probably meet some folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here. Oscawana Lake generally gets a great deal of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Oscawana Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Near Oscawana Lake you                  come across the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and enjoy a round of golf at The Garrison Golf Club. All through the summertime at Oscawana Lake highs are generally in the 70's while night lows are ordinarily in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Oscawana Lake. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. The sight of picturesque Candlewood Hill near Oscawana Lake is great, and Oscawana Lake is a tremendous location to visit for more than one day, Beaver Pond is a tremendous location to camp nearby.
