That right there is plenty of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Catskill Mountains has it all. Going for a hike along the Phoenicia Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; a       perfect location to camp here at Onteora Pond is Doherty's Mountain Campground. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Windham Mountain, and camping is available at White Birches. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Hunter Mountain in the vicinity; you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Willow Trail. An average amount of rain falls at Onteora Pond; May is the wettest month with most rain,                  and February is the month with the least moisture. Any time is a splendid time at Onteora Pond if you like the outdoors. Onteora Pond is a place with many visitors from Kingston. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Catskill Mountains. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Colonial Country Club, and let's not forget Allen Brook which is a stream that you may encounter while here. All through the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 70's at Onteora Pond with nighttime lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Onteora Pond sink into the 0's. The peak of Onteora Mountain can be seen from Onteora Pond, and after a long day outdoors Hotel Vienna is a nice place to spend a night or two. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Plattekill Creek, and Lake Rip Van Winkle is a nearby lake that you could explore.
