This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something in the vicinity of Onteora Pond? Leach Lake is in close proximity, and whitewater paddling is perfect on Saw Kill River. While you're here at Onteora Pond you can take a hike along the Phoenicia Trail, of course you could also go to Tannersville Reservoirs since you're here; it's not far at all. Just can't get enough of the Catskill Mountains. The snow is delightful at       Hunter Mountain, and Torchlight Campsites is a great campground nearby. All the outdoors exciting things near Onteora Pond will keep you coming back many times. Hiking along the Spruceton Trail is tremendous fun; this is a popular place for folks from Kingston. Summertime at Onteora Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are typically in the 20's with                  temperatures at Onteora Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. A day on the slopes of Windham Mountain is just what you need; if you came for an overnight stay Doherty's Mountain Campground is a great site to camp.
