Through the warm months at Onteora Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Onteora Lake sink into the 0's. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Onteora Lake. The Phoenicia Trail is       a splendid hiking trail near Onteora Lake; there are plenty of folks from Kingston here. This lake is so wonderful. Onteora Lake is a delightful spot to visit for more than one day, Saugerties/Woodstock KOA is a delightful spot to camp nearby; if the weather is wonderful, you get a glorious vista of Gallis Hill from Onteora Lake. Be careful coming to the Catskill Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. Everybody close by loves skiing at Hunter                  Mountain; get wet paddling on Saw Kill River. There are other sites here than Onteora Lake, for example Kingston Reservoir Number One, and dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Kingston. The Catskill Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Hidden Valley Lake is a tremendous local campground, and if you need a site to stay Quality Inn & Suites is a splendid choice. That right there is a load of amusing things already but it goes on, the Catskill Mountains has it all. If the weather is nice here at Onteora Lake, you can go for a hike along the Willow Trail, and a round of golf at nearby Wiltwyck Country Club is a great way to kill some time. The slopes of Windham Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. Lakes? Sure, Kingston Reservoir Number Four is close at hand.
