This lake is so wonderful. All through the long summer days at Old Pond temperatures are frequently in the 70's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Old Pond. All the water falling down from the sky makes Old Pond a wet site; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year       is February. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Old Pond; Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail is a perfect local trail, and enjoy a round of golf at Sacandaga Golf Club. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Old Pond. Here at Old Pond there are plenty of folks from Gloversville; a pleasant nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Amsterdam. This location,                  the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors cool things. Good hiking is available along the Oregon Trail, and why not camp at Northhampton Beach Recreation since you're here at Old Pond. So much amusing stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not sufficient time. If you came for an overnight stay Rainbows End is a great site to camp; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Johnstown-Gloversville, Ny is a pleasant site to spend a night or two. From Old Pond you acquire a great panorama of Cobble Mountain, and if you get bored of Old Pond you could also check out nearby Greenfield Lake.
