North Pond is always a pleasure to visit. North Pond is a beautiful lake in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Mill Creek is a magnificent whitewater spot next to North Pond; there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Lost Pond Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Boquet River; North Pond is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, Camp Normandie is

| | a magnificent place to camp nearby. If you need a place to stay Basin Harbor Club is a splendid choice, and you can stay the night at Barber Homestead Park. This place, North Pond, it truly has so much outdoors cool stuff. While you're here at North Pond, you could also have a look at scenic Mud Pond, and Ticonderoga - Super 8 Motel is a good location to get some rest. Peak can be seen from North Pond, and the Clear Pond Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not enough time. Bartlett Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at; if
the weather is wonderful, you can go for a hike along the Bear Pond Trail. For the period of the summer months at North Pond highs are generally in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the
wintertime are in the 20's with temperatures at North Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. The amount of rain that falls at North Pond is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February meanwhile is the driest month.

Oxshoe Pond
 | 17 miles away What a terrific place to spend the night or even a few days. I went there on my first hike ever, and I am going back this week. It is about a 3-4 hour hike into the trail, but man is it worth it. If you are lucky enough to be the only group there, you will find a lean-2 and fire pit all to yourself. Also, there is a very secluded pond(oxshoe pond) in the same valley, that is just spectacular. A row boat is on hand to use for free for anyone at the site. No cell service with Verizon there, but then again, who needs that? lol again though, an absolutely amazing place to spend a few nights.... |
