Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Glenarbor Golf Club, and you'll come across a pretty lake called Converse Lake. So many cool things to do at North Lake, so little time. On a good day at North Lake you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and at North Lake you always meet someone from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown. A glorious       close by hotel is Ramada Inn; North Lake is a nice spot to camp, Clarence Fahnestock State Park is a nice spot. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Norwalk River, and why not have a look at Saddle Pond Dam while you're here. The snow is perfect at Thunder Ridge; after a long day outdoors Wellesley Inn Armonk is a good spot to spend a night or two.
