The beauty of North Lake is reason enough to stop by. If you came to camp Camp Echo Lake is a splendid location to do that, and pleasant hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Saddle Pond Dam is not far at all from North Lake, and most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Long Pond is just a very short distance away. Glenarbor Golf Club is a golf course close to North Lake, and Wellesley Inn Armonk is a wonderful location

| | to get some rest. North Lake generally gets much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is May while January is generally the driest month. At North Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 80's while night lows are typically in the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are usually in the 30's, and nighttime lows at North Lake during the wintertime commonly fall into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. that you need to camp here for a while, Soundview Sports is a pleasant spot for that, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Mt. Kisco (Westchester Cty),Ny is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Norwalk River, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Thunder Ridge. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. You could also check out Windmill
Lake while you're here at North Lake; it's close by; you'll meet a lot of folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here.

Dixon Lake
 | 14 miles away ...ristmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to Austin rd elem.my age now is forty ni... |
