If you came to camp Nicks Lake Campgrounds is a splendid place to do that; if you come at the right time of year, Black River - South Branch offers some good whitewater. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things near North Lake. North Lake is right by the Party Trail. Lakes? Sure, Mud Pond is in the vicinity. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to North Lake. Once the sun is down       it descends down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for North Lake. North Lake is a beautiful lake in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. A quick tour to Golden Stair Creek right next door to North Lake is a delightful idea. Take a hike on the Forty Mountain Trail, and camping at OLD Forge Camping Resort is always a nice experience. So many entertaining things to do here in the Adirondack                  Mountains, too fine to be true. McCauley Mountain has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff, and the Twin Lakes Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Knights Inn Little Falls is a brilliant place to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Black River. North Lake typically gets lots of rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February.
