     Camping is available at Camp Discovery, and hiking is a popular thing to do around New Croton Reservoir; Woodtown Trail is a good local trail. You just must have a thing about New Croton Reservoir. Looking for something right next door to New Croton Reservoir? Frankcrest Pond is close at hand, and an afternoon playing golf at Trump National Golf Club is always a diversion. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit New Croton Dam if you're here, and if you come  
   at the right time of year, Moodna Creek offers some good whitewater.
During the summertime here at New Croton Reservoir, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for New Croton Reservoir. New Croton Reservoir regularly gets a good deal of rain; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of
 
               the year is February. Bald Mountain can be observed from New Croton Reservoir, and why not camp at Camp Echo Lake while you're here at New Croton Reservoir.
Don't leave New Croton Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; Edith Macy Conference Center is a fine location to get some rest. Some nearby water includes Bailey Brook; almost certainly you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Blue Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Stillwell Lake Trail; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites.
Yep, outdoors amusing things to do are in fact abundant here at New Croton Reservoir. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Popolopen Creek, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown.

Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...

...d in the three story pink house on chestnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a co...

Torne Mount Ivy Trail

Locally, and on the NYNJTC maps, this is known as the Tuxedo-Mount Ivy Trail. There is a 'Hillburn-Torne-Sabago' trail that ends at the middle of the TMI. These are both in Harriman State Park. I'm not quite sure what the reference to 'Robert Moses' is all about, except perhaps the state park on Long Island, about equidistant, but in the opposite direction, from NYC-Newark-Edison. Gateway National Recreation Area, although very nice, is also nowhere near this trail....
