    Mudhole Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. At Mudhole Pond during the days of summer highs are in the 70's, and the night is somewhat colder of course, frequently in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Mudhole Pond. That right there is loads of exciting things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all.  
   In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Moose River, and camping at Kayuta Lake Campground is always a glorious experience.
This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Twin Lakes Trail is tremendous fun, and camping is available at Moose River Camp Grounds. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things in the Adirondack Mountains. Little Woodhull Creek has a great whitewater paddling
 
               spot close by, and while you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Utica-Rome. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Mudhole Pond. A day on the slopes of Snow Ridge is just what you need, and Headwaters Motor Lodge is a nice spot to get some rest.
The Stone Dam Trail offers hiking at its best. Lakes are pleasant; Buck Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Mudhole Pond. From a rainfall point of view Mudhole Pond is a rather normal site; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. A nice close by hotel is Brantingham Inn Motel.
Head up to Woods Valley and strap some skis to your feet; Mudhole Pond is right by the Forty Mountain Trail.
