Forty Mountain Trail
 | 15 miles away Since 2001, it has become a bushwhack and can be close to impossible in the spring and summer to find the blazes that indicate the trail. Wet seasons can make the slopes tretcherous, and the trail dissapears at the base of the mountain. One must plot a compass course or use a GPS. The summit offers limited views of the Black River area of the southwestern Adirondacks. Watch for black bears, as they are numerous in this region.... |
