so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Snow Ridge since you're here, and going for a hike on the Stone Dam Trail is always a great adventure. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Adirondack
Mountains. What would winter be without some skiing at McCauley Mountain, and don't leave Mudhole Pond without first going for a hike along the Twin Lakes Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the
Adirondack Mountains. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Moose River. There's so much to do here at Mudhole Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Brook Campsites is a brilliant place for that.

Forty Mountain Trail
 | 15 miles away Since 2001, it has become a bushwhack and can be close to impossible in the spring and summer to find the blazes that indicate the trail. Wet seasons can make the slopes tretcherous, and the trail dissapears at the base of the mountain. One must plot a compass course or use a GPS. The summit offers limited views of the Black River area of the southwestern Adirondacks. Watch for black bears, as they are numerous in this region.... |
