Mud Ponds is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. Be careful coming to the Adirondack Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. Ranch Side Park is a magnificent local campground; locations like Curtis Clearing are wonderful to stop at. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Ponds; Oregon Trail is a great local trail, and why not check out       nearby East Branch County Line Brook since you're here at Mud Ponds. If you came for an overnight stay Rainbows End is a good place to camp, naturally you could also visit Siamese Ponds while you're here; it's not far at all. Sacandaga River - East Branch is a tremendous whitewater spot near Mud Ponds, and the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail offers hiking at its best. Just can't get enough of Mud Ponds. Really great skiing awaits you at Gore Mountain,                  and a fine location for whitewater paddling is Georgia Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Cod Pond is next to Mud Ponds, and the vista of lovely Blue Hills is glorious. That right there is a load of fun things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. Mud Ponds is right by the Sucker Brook Trail; you'll meet a lot of people from Gloversville here. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Mud Ponds. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Mud Ponds temperatures dip to the 0's.
