    Many people like to go to Mud Ponds. There's so much to do here at Mud Ponds that you need to camp here for a while, Rainbows End is a delightful location for that; there are plenty of folks from Gloversville here. Going for a hike on the Sucker Brook Trail is always a delightful adventure, and from Mud Ponds you obtain a wonderful view of Blue Hills. This lake is so wonderful.
Having a glorious time in the Adirondack Mountains is easy. If you're here at
 
   Mud Ponds, you could go to East Branch County Line Brook, and Curtis Clearing is a fine place to stretch your legs a bit. The amount of rainfall that falls at Mud Ponds is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things right next door to Mud Ponds.
 
               There is a nice hiking trail near Mud Ponds called the Oregon Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Georgia Brook. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Adirondack Mountains has to offer. If you come at the right time of year, Sacandaga River - East Branch offers some wonderful whitewater, and the slopes of Gore Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist. All through the summer months, highs generally are in the 70's at Mud Ponds, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while Mud Ponds overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. Near Mud Ponds you discover the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail which is a great hiking trail, and Mud Ponds is great enough to spend more than a day at, Ranch Side Park is a great local campground.
