    Go to Mud Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mud Pond has to offer, you can camp at Wintergreen Lake Campsite; why not take a refreshing hike along the Oregon Trail. Mud Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. And that's not all you can do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Halfway Brook is a lovely stream that is worth a visit.
If you come at the right time of year, Thirteenth
 
   Brook offers some tremendous whitewater; dry warm beds await you at Lake George/Warrensburg Super 8 Motel. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Mud Pond. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Mud Pond tend to be in the 0's. The top of Eleventh Mountain is easily observed from Mud Pond, and a pleasant journey to Bog Meadow is a  
               perfect way to spend an afternoon.
So much entertaining stuff near Mud Pond, completely extraordinary. You're probably into lakes, Botheration Pond is one of those nearby; there are some great whitewater spots on Balm of Gilead Brook. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Mud Pond; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. So much fun stuff in the Adirondack Mountains, just impressive. Mud Pond is a good site to camp, Smoke Rise Campsites is a good site, and Gore Mountain is a very popular ski area close by.
