    If you are in this part of New York make sure to pay a visit to Mud Pond. Lake Awosting is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. There's so much to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Rondout Valley Camping Resort is a glorious place for that. At Mud Pond through the summer months highs are in the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's while the cold winter  
   nights at Mud Pond are in the 10's. A fine place for whitewater paddling right next door to Mud Pond is Vernooy Kill River; since you're here you can take a hike along the Vernooy Falls Trail.

This lake is so wonderful. During your tour to Mud Pond you'll meet some people from Kingston for sure. Mud Pond is a reasonably wet place typically with a large amount of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Murray Hill is clearly visible from Mud Pond, and Mud Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Acres Camp is a great local campground.
