The yearly precipitation here at Mud Pond is about average; throughout September this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Mud Pond. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. The cold days of the       winter come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Mud Pond dip into the 10's. The snow is great at Greek Peak, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Sixmile Creek. If you come at the right time of year, Fall Creek offers some brilliant whitewater, and getting to Beaver Creek from Mud Pond is uncomplicated. This lake is so wonderful. A great nearby hotel is Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Cortland,                  Ny, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Cortland is a good place to spend a night or two. Camping is available at Forest Lake Camp Ground, and on a beautiful day you obtain a wonderful vista of Simms Hill from Mud Pond. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Mud Pond. If you came for an overnight stay Yellow Lantern Kamp Grounds is a brilliant site to camp; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Song Mountain is quite near. This lake is so wonderful.
