     People from Ogdensburg-Massena love to come to Mud Pond, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Salmon Lake Trail. You can see Panther Mountain from Mud Pond, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Post Henderson Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not explore Sucker Lake right next door to Mud Pond, and the The Loop is a delightful hiking trail close by.

   at Mud Pond is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Mud Pond, and the overnight is quite chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Mud Pond. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on  
               Little River, and if you need a place to stay Best Western University Inn is a great choice.
So much amusing stuff to do here at Mud Pond, too great to be true. Whitewater paddling is fine on Oswegatchie River - East Branch; there are other locations here than Mud Pond, for example Rock Lake.
