But wait, there's more to do near Mud Pond. Best Western University Inn is a fine spot to get some rest; Lampsons Falls is always fun to check out. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Mud Pond. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Mud Pond dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered       with water paddling on Grass River - Middle Branch, and Mud Pond is not the only spot close by, Bullhead Pond is a close by lake. A tremendous close by hotel is Comfort Suites Canton; at Mud Pond you always meet someone from Ogdensburg-Massena. If you get bored of Mud Pond, you could also stop at nearby Horseshoe Pond, and do take a hike on the Post Henderson Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Grass River - North Branch is so much fun, and Higley Flow State                  Park is a magnificent campground nearby. Mud Pond gets a typical amount of rain; through August this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February.
