A visit to Mud Pond is always a good idea. There's so much to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Robinson's Iga is a wonderful place for that, and you get a delightful sight of Francis Hill from here. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Mud Pond gets a common amount of annual rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most; February on the other hand is the driest.

This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Oswegatchie River - East Branch next to Mud Pond, and not far from Mud Pond you'll stumble on Readway Ponds which is a pretty lake. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Mud Pond is right by the Salmon Lake Trail; if you're here you can play some golf at Sayles John M Memorial Golf Course. At Mud Pond through the summer months highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's.
For the duration of the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Mud Pond temperatures sink to the 0's.
Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. Take a hike on the The Loop, and McCauley Mountain is a magnificent local ski area. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Post Henderson Trail, and there's whitewater on Little River for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful.
All year is a delightful time in the Adirondack Mountains if you go for the outdoors. There are other sites here than Mud Pond, for example Muir Pond, and hey, Little Otter Pond Outlet is a splendid local stream.
