Beautiful Mud Pond has much to offer visitors. Summertime highs at Mud Pond generally tend to be in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Mud Pond. Mud Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Sure, North Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Really tremendous skiing awaits you at McCauley Mountain, and camping at Nicks Lake Campgrounds is always a brilliant experience. Get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Black River - South Branch; there's perfect hiking along the Twin Lakes Trail.
