    Mud Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. That right there is a lot of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. Not far from Mud Pond, you'll hit upon Lake Abanakee which is a pretty lake, and if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail. Summer at Mud Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, regularly  
   in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's; night lows through the winter for Mud Pond tend to be in the 0's. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do near Mud Pond. Lakes are good; Bullhead Pond is a lake that's close to Mud Pond, and Cedar Pond Campground is a magnificent campground nearby.
A splendid place for whitewater paddling close to Mud Pond is Indian River; the vista of Big Pisgah Mountain is beautiful.
 
               The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Adirondack Mountains. What would winter be without some skiing at Gore Mountain, and the Sucker Brook Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. Cedar River is a nice whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Mud Pond; there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Oregon Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Mountain Lake Inn, and you can stay the night at Hoss's Country Campground.
Mud Pond is a good site of typical rainfall; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture.
