What a location this is for outdoors folks. Hiking along the Oregon Trail is good fun, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Cedar River. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting things the Adirondack Mountains has to offer. From Mud Pond you get a good panorama of Big Pisgah Mountain; if you came to camp Cedar Pond Campground is a tremendous location to do that. From a rainfall point of view Mud Pond       is a rather typical location; through August this area sees the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. During the summertime at Mud Pond temperatures are mostly in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Having a magnificent time in the Adirondack Mountains is simple. Mud Pond is nice enough to spend more                  than a day at, Hoss's Country Campground is a nice local campground, and not far from Mud Pond you'll come across Clear Pond which is a pretty lake. A tremendous close by hotel is Best Western Mountain Lake Inn; you can hit the slopes at Gore Mountain nearby. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Indian River. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Pond is right by the Sucker Brook Trail. Lakes? Sure, Corner Pond is in the neighborhood.
