    If you like lakes and you're in this part of New York you can check out Mud Pond. Near Mud Pond you locate the Sucker Brook Trail which is a good hiking trail, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Cedar River. Indian River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and the view of Big Pisgah Mountain is beautiful. The yearly rain here at Mud Pond is about average; most of the rain falls all through August; February is when it's the driest.

   Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. So much enjoyable stuff near Mud Pond, completely amazing. If you need a place to stay Lone Birch Motel is a great choice. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mud Pond has to offer, you can camp at Whispering woods. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Adirondack Mountains. A fine nearby hotel is Adirondack Trail Motel, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Northville Lake Placid Trail.
 
               This lake is so wonderful. Clear Pond is a wonderful lake near Mud Pond, and going for a hike on the Oregon Trail is always a splendid adventure. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Adirondack Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. Very delightful scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Gore Mountain. The warmest time of the year at Mud Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, ordinarily in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mud Pond.
