So many entertaining things to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not enough time. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Lake Placid; next to Mud Pond you find a golf course called Craig Wood Golf & Country Club. Mud Pond gets a common amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month is February. There are good spots to explore along the Hopkins Trail, and what would winter be without some       skiing at Mount Pisgah. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Ausable River - West Branch in the neighborhood of Mud Pond, and in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Upper Cascade Lake is just a very short distance away. Pitchoff Mountain is charming and can be observed from Mud Pond, and John's Brook is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mud Pond without first going for a hike along                  the Phelps Trail; a perfect place to camp here at Mud Pond is Adirondak Loj. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area right next door to Mud Pond has to offer. Gotta ski! Whiteface Mountain is a glorious spot to do that, and there's tremendous hiking along the Johns Brook Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Pond. Camping at Whispering Pines Campground is always a fine experience, and Hi-Notch is another perfect place to visit nearby. This place, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Looking for something in close proximity to Mud Pond? Round Lake is in the vicinity; after a long day outdoors Courtyard Lake Placid is a great site to spend a night or two. Mud Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. For the duration of the long summer days here at Mud Pond, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's.
