The summit of Boice Hill can be seen from Mud Pond, and a beautiful lake like Long Pond is a wonderful spot to stop at. If you came for an overnight stay Ramapo Anchorage Camp is a great spot to camp; after a long day outdoors Quality Inn Hyde Park is a nice spot to spend a night or two. The high level of precipitation makes Mud Pond a reasonably wet site; the       month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not have a look at Silver Lake close to Mud Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Poughkeepsie. Summertime highs at Mud Pond usually tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 50's.
