You absolutely have to love Mud Pond. A pleasant nearby hotel is Villa Roma Resort Lodges, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Beaver Kill River. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Mud Pond while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Mud Pond tend to be in the       10's. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Roscoe Campsites is a glorious local campground; for you golfers we recommend nearby Twin Village Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent location to camp here at Mud Pond is Russell Brook Campsite, and there are other spots here than Mud Pond, for example Cables Lake. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the Catskill Mountains. Mud Pond is                  right next door to Pond Hollow which is undeniably worth checking out, and Howard Johnson Inn Liberty NY is a perfect site to get some rest. Callicoon Creek - North Branch has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; Edwards Pond is a delightful lake close by. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Catskill Mountains. One of the main highlights of the surroundings of Mud Pond is Rodgers Hill, and if you have time, Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River is a national park worth checking out.
