    If you are in Clinton county it's always a good idea to stop by Mud Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Having a fine time in the Adirondack Mountains is painless. Looking for some flowing water? Try Fall Brook. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Mud Pond has to offer, you can camp at Douglas Corp Of Silver Lake. Throughout the months of summer at Mud Pond temperatures are frequently in the 70's. During  
   the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Mud Pond temperatures plunge to the 0's.
Everybody close by loves skiing at Whiteface Mountain. Lakes are fine; Ore Pond is a lake that's next to Mud Pond. Yep, outdoors entertaining things to do are really bountiful here at Mud Pond. Saranac River is a good whitewater spot near Mud Pond. There's so much
 
               to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, North Pole Campground is a fine site for that. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Adirondack Mountains has to offer. There's magnificent hiking along the Silver Lake Mountain Trail; after a long day outdoors Mirror Lake Inn is a great site to spend a night or two.
Mud Pond gets a good deal of water; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Lake Placid Club Lodge is a delightful choice. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Pond; Schwartz Trail is a glorious local trail; not far from Mud Pond you'll locate Barnes Pond which is a wonderful lake.
Mud Pond is not far at all from Plattsburgh; a glorious spot for whitewater paddling is Saranac River.

Silver Lake Mt. is a glorious hike. Its not too difficult for the amateur hikers and has a few trails off to the side that are a bit more difficult and fun for the experienced hikers. Its a great place for a family or business day retreat and provides phenomenal views of the North Countries natural beauty. Enjoy the trail but remember to keep it clean and well maintained. A little effort can go a long way......
