This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mud Pond has to offer, you can camp at North Pole Campground, and a picturesque lake like Tefft Pond is a glorious place to explore. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Lake Placid Club Lodge is a nice choice, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Schwartz Trail. Saranac       River is a fine whitewater spot in the vicinity of Mud Pond; Taylor Pond is a magnificent lake nearby. Mud Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; during August this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do right next door to Mud Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Mirror Lake Inn, and Whiteface Mountain has delightful slopes and a friendly staff. All through the days of summer highs                  here at Mud Pond reach the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's; overnight lows at Mud Pond through the winter commonly fall into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Bear Brook is close to Mud Pond and is always a pleasure to pop by, and on a gorgeous day you get a wonderful panorama of Carmel Mountain from Mud Pond. Take a hike on the Johns Brook Trail. So many exciting things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too delightful to be true. You'll meet a lot of folks from Plattsburgh here, and the Silver Lake Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. Man, is there a load of fun stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains.
