This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Mud Pond is a wet location that gets a large amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. Be careful coming to the Adirondack Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Near Mud Pond you find the Schwartz Trail which is a great hiking trail,       and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mount Pisgah. Through the summertime highs here at Mud Pond reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Mud Pond. Mud Pond is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, North Pole Campground is a magnificent local campground; going for a hike on the Johns Brook Trail is always a brilliant                  adventure. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Mud Pond you will meet lots of people from close by Plattsburgh, and glide down the rapids of Saranac River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Really perfect skiing awaits you at Whiteface Mountain, and dry warm beds await you at Birch Tree Lodge. Be careful coming to Mud Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. A lake nearby is Taylor Pond, and if you need a spot to stay Mountain Brook Lodge is a perfect choice. That right there is a lot of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. The Silver Lake Mountain Trail is a glorious hiking trail right next door to Mud Pond, and Bear Brook is right next door to Mud Pond and is always a pleasure to visit. From Mud Pond you obtain a nice view of Carmel Mountain.
