If you're a golfer then a good close by course is Gouverneur Country Club, and if you need a place to stay Quality Inn Gran-View is a magnificent choice. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Oswegatchie River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Backbay Campground is a splendid spot for that.       The annual rainfall here at Mud Lake is about average; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Mud Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Carol Camps is a great local campground; Red Carpet Inn Ogdensburg is a nice place to get some rest. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Mud Lake get into the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The winter comes                  with highs in the 20's; nighttime lows at Mud Lake through the winter typically sink into the 0's.
