After a long day outdoors Red Carpet Inn Rome is a good spot to spend a night or two; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Fish Creek - East Branch. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at A-ok Camping       and Recreation, and if you come at the right time of year, Mohawk River offers some great whitewater. Through the long summer days, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Mud Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mud Lake. From a precipitation point of view Mud Lake is a reasonably common location; of all the months in a year November                  is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. What would winter be without some skiing at Snow Ridge, and lakes are such serene places, why not visit Smith Lake. All our national parks are tremendous places to check out, and Fort Stanwix National Monument is no exception, and you'll stumble on a wonderful lake called Bloodsucker Lake.
