Throughout the warm months, highs generally are in the 70's at Mud Lake. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Mud Lake. An average amount of rain falls at Mud Lake; the month with most of the rain is November, and July is when it's the driest. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's       for you then we recommend Oswegatchie River; a brilliant spot to camp here at Mud Lake is Ripplewood Campground. There are some fine whitewater spots on Black Creek, and needless to say, this is a magnificent vicinity for folks who like lakes, Crystal Lake is a lake nearby. This place, Mud Lake, it simply has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. After a long day outdoors Candlewood Suites LERAY-WATERTOWN is a nice spot to spend a night or two, and the snow                  is pleasant at Dry Hill. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Clear Lake, and Riveredge Resort is a wonderful place to get some rest.
