The annual precipitation here at Mud Lake is about average; June is the wettest month with most rain while January is usually the driest month. During the long summer days at Mud Lake highs are regularly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows at Mud Lake all through the winter mostly dip into the 0's. There are some       great whitewater spots on Spruce Creek, and if you need a location to stay Lake View Motel is a great choice. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Glimmerglass State Park is a tremendous place for that, and at Mud Lake you always meet someone from Oneonta. Having a good time at Mud Lake is trouble-free. If you come at the right time of year, East Canada Creek offers some nice whitewater; Otsego Golf Club is a good                  golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Ringwood Farms Campground; there is a nice hiking trail close by called the California Trail.
