Mud Lake is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Adirondack Mountains is excellent! Mud Lake is a place with many visitors from Gloversville, and if you're here, you could also stop by delightful Chase Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the neighborhood of Mud Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we       recommend West Stony Creek; Mud Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Ranch Side Park is a good place to camp nearby. Mud Lake gets a great deal of water; throughout November this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. All through the summer months, highs frequently are in the 80's at Mud Lake. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 20's, and after the sun is down                  throughout the wintertime temperatures at Mud Lake descend into the 0's. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail, and hey, Goldmine Creek is a brilliant local stream. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Adirondack Mountains has to offer. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Holmes Lake Outlet; Pinnacle is clearly visible from Mud Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous close by hotel is Johnstown/Gloversville Super 8 Motel, and Racker Vly is a nearby lake that you could pop by. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Johnstown-Gloversville, Ny is a tremendous choice, and Campsite is a tremendous local campground.
