This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Ranch Side Park. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more exciting things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Take a hike on the Oregon Trail, and a good nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Johnstown-Gloversville, Ny. This lake is so wonderful. At Mud Lake you always meet someone from Gloversville; golf can be played at Sacandaga Golf Club. Get covered with water paddling on       West Stony Creek; there are swamps here too, Tamarack Swamp is in the neighborhood. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. After a long day outdoors Johnstown/Gloversville Super 8 Motel is a great site to spend a night or two, and do visit Woodward Lake, it's a beautiful lake. Mud Lake is right by the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail, and why not camp at Rainbows End since you're here at Mud Lake. At Mud Lake throughout the summertime highs are                  in the 80's; the overnight is a little cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Mud Lake.
