   Mud Lake ordinarily gets lots of rain; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. If you need a site to stay Johnstown/Gloversville Super 8 Motel is a magnificent choice; there are other sites here than Mud Lake, for example Peck Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Mud Lake there are plenty of people from Gloversville; lakes are such serene places, why not check out Cold Brook Reservoir.

In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Holmes Lake Outlet; why not take a refreshing hike along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail. Throughout the months of summer highs here at Mud Lake get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 20's; night lows during the winter for Mud Lake tend to be in the 0's.

Never been there...going there soon though....l\Love it there, going today. :)...Great spot for swimming in the summer. Clear waters, with many rocks and small cliffs to jump off, along with a rope swing! Its a heavily used area, made apparent by the large amount of garbage left around during the busy months, but  all in all a good lake and definatley worth the short hike....
